A site to get Firoz Kassam out of Oxford United FC and let the mighty Yellow march up League 2 Oxford United FC Football Club are an English football team who are currently playing in the fifth tier of English football for the 2007-08 season. Its history is quite unlike that of any other club in English football. In the space of less than half a century, it has joined the Football League, climbed from the Fourth Division to the First in 20 years, won the League Cup, then endured an 18-year decline which saw it relegated to the Conference-making it the first team to have won a major trophy to endure this disappointment. Current manager Jim Smith (also a director) has recently returned to the club some 20 years after his first spell in charge. He was the man who took Oxford into the top flight, and will now be expected to take them back up to the football League. Other well-known Oxford United FC managers include Brian Horton, Mark Lawrenson, Maurice Evans, Denis Smith, Ian Atkins, Ramon Diaz and Brian Talbot. Well-known players to have worn an Oxford shirt include Ron Atkinson, Ray Houghton, Dean Saunders and John Aldridge. Oxford will have probably their toughest game of the season so far tomorrow when they travel to Stevenage Borough for another Live Setanta match in the Blue Square Premier, kick off 7.45pm , the U's should remain the same as Saturday, but with the games being close together Jim might make the odd change if need be, one thing for sure is the U's will be well supported like the last season at Broadhall Way, then the U's went 2-0 down and came back to get a 2-2 draw in what was a very exciting game which also finished with me having the back of my trousers bit off by a savage Police dog, I'm staying well away this time. Oxford made it 3 wins out of 4 yesterday with a 2-1 win against lowly Stafford Rangers, Oxfod should have beaten Stafford by 5 or 6, but had some good goal keeping and some awful finishing saving them, after Phil Trainer had scored his first U's goal on 45 minutes and then his 2nd less than a minute after the break it looked like the U's were going to destroy them, but they could not get that 3rd goal and with the officials again being shocking it was Rangers that got a goal back through a dodgy free kick which left Billy Turley seething.
